Do I need to go on the Chambre de Métier’s Stage?

I have received a letter from the Chambre de Métiers inviting me to attend a Stage at a cost of €70. I don’t think it is compulsory - I may be wrong - but as it will all be in French I don’t think I would particularly get as much out of it as I would if it were in English. Do you know whether attending the Stage is compulsory or not - and if not compulsory would you think it might be a good idea to attend anyway?
