Do I have to register to pay the CFE tax online before the 28 October?

I have completed the first stage of registering to pay the Contribution Fonciere des Entreprises (CFE) online. Reading the instructions on how to… I see that the activation code for the second step will be sent to me by post. I am however in the UK due to a death in the family and will not be in France to receive this code and complete the process in time for payment on the 28 October. Please can you advise?
