Complementary health insurance for Switzerland for auto-entrepreneur?

I am based in Haut-Rhin near the border with Switzerland. As I spend a lot of time also in Switzerland I would like to get my complimentary health insurance to also cover me in Switzerland. I’m talking to a few insurers, however, Credit Mutuel came back and asked if my basic insurance that I have through auto-entrepreneur registration will pay up when you go to Switzerland as they will only provide complimentary cover in Switzerland if this is the case.

I believe that the basic cover would not pay up in this case as this would require a specific agreement I suspect - would you be able to shed any light on how I can find out and/or whether this is necessary?
