Collecting payments from customers

I would like my customers to have the freedom to pay for services at the time they are actioned (a couple of months away), but I would like to ensure that they will pay when the time comes so that I am not left with no shows after reserving their places for 1/2 months before.

  1. Is asking for a deposit the only way?
  2. Are there other options? They have to sign a contract before the place is reserved
  3. But this doesn’t mean that they are required to make a payment does it?
