For the last four years I have been running a photography business as an EI, simplifie reel regime tax status with no TVA charged. My profit margins have been low and last year was a loss. So I am paying the base to RSI about 1600 € a year. However, during the last couple of years or so I have spent most of my time renovating our house and retraining as a plumber. I have now received my qualification from City and Guilds as a domestic general plumber. Can I change my existing photographic business from a simplifie reel to a micro-social regime or auto-entrepreneur, and if so how can I do this?

Secondly, I am thinking about registering a plumbing business as an auto-entrepreneur, can I do this as well as changing the regime of my existing business, if I keep it going, and running both businesses at the same time? With micro-social or auto-entrepreneur what social contribution payments are made if no income is generated in a reporting period? If no contributions are made in any period will I still have health insurance cover, is there a minimum contribution to make - like I make with the simplifie reel regime?
