Should I change from auto-entrepreneur to salarier?

I am an auto-entrepreneur, with one main client and occasional work from others. I am thinking of changing to salarier (actually vacancier) status with the main client. I notice that the auto-entrepreneur site warns that if I close my auto-entrepreneur business, I will be liable to cotisations afterwards, based on my last declaration. Rather than do this, should I keep the business open and just let it die a natural death after 3 years? Can I be a salarier and auto-entrepreneur at the same time (I have 2 different occupations listed)? Do I have to do anything in particular with regard to RSI or cotisations?
