Chambre D’Hotes inspection?
I have noticed that there are a few chambre d’hote owners on this site and wondered if you or anyone else had any information about being inspected. We have only set up this year and we registered with our Marie as required because if you do not do this by the 1st July there will now be a fine. We have now had a phone call from our local tourist office saying we have to be inspected by them. I have spoken to other local CD owners both English and French and they think this is very strange and none of them have been inspected and have been running for years.
The tourist office said it was the law and we had to be given a rating. The people locally have said this is a trick to get us registered with someone like gites de france or another organisation like clévacance. Can anyone please help shed some light on this. The Marie did not say this was a requirement and it seems that the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing.
