Can two micro entrepreneurs run one business?

If micro entrepreneur is the optimal business form for foreigners hoping to live permanently in France (and I gather it is, but please correct me if I’m wrong), is it possible for two unrelated individuals to run a single enterprise, each as micro-entrepreneurs, and to thereby qualify individually for long-stay visas?
If not, what would be the correct business form for such an undertaking?
