Can I work for a company in France and have my own SARL business?

Please can you tell me if I can just work for a company in France before I set up a société à responsabilité limitée (SARL) business in France? We considered for the first few weeks it would be a good idea. I have now been offered an interview working in the same line of business that I hope to set up. The job would give me the opportunity to find suppliers and clients for myself.

I am protective over my UK pension and NHS. If we require private medical insurance we could put it in place. My wife would do something similar but work in the schools full time. My job would be for about six months maximum.
