Can I work as a freelancer and maintain my status as a micro-entrepreneur?

A follow up to my last question. I have a possible offer to work for a french company (unrelated business) as an account manager prospecting new business, working with existing clients and attending trade shows. It would be on a freelance basis and have the same questions as my previous post. The details have not been worked out as of yet but I would imagine that it would be 8-16 hours per week to start.
