Can I be an Agent Commerciale in France?

I have been offered a Agent Commerciale position with a real estate firm in the South of France. The position requires me to have auto-entrepreneur status. I am keen to use your services to ensure the paperwork is done accurately. But, I have a couple of questions.

Is a long-stay visa the best option for being eligible to apply for the auto-entrepreneur status?
Do I need to first acquire a long-stay visa for France before we work together on the auto-entrepreneur status?
I have read a great deal about the auto-entrepreneur being renamed to micro-entrepreneur. Did this actually happen in January? Will this affect how I apply for the status? Are there any differences to the scheme now that they are combined?
Do I need to have proof of health insurance coverage before applying for auto-entrepreneur status?
