Can an auto-entrepreneur hire an employee?

I am currently set up as an auto entrepreneur and would like to know if I can hire an employee / assistant to help with administrative duties and various tasks. The assistant would assist in day to day duties and also setting up my business, i.e. locating printing companies, looking for business premises, buying supplies, running errands etc.

  1. I am registered from my home and the employee would be based here. I would like to hire part-time to start with, is this a possible scenario?
  2. Where can I find detailed information on salaries, wages and different employment structures in France?
