Can a musician set up as an auto entrepreneur in France?

I would like to register an auto entrepreneur business as a musician working in France and would appreciate some clarification on a number of points.

  1. I intend playing primarily as a solo artist sometimes playing as part of a band, are both activities permitted under the auto-entrepreneur rules?
  2. I will also do some musical instrument teaching, is this permitted?
  3. I do not have formal teaching qualifications although I have passed exams demonstrating competence and I have 20 years plus relevant playing experience. Most of my work would come from playing in bars, wedding venues, fetes etc. I would expect to declare all gross income even when paid in cash. Do you foresee any difficulties?
  4. Once the business is set up, I presume I can qualify for a carte vitale, and is it correct that my wife would also be covered?
