Business Visa France: One-Way Flight Requirement

I have a question about the “one-way flight” requirement mentioned in a number of your materials.

While on a 2026 France scouting trip, we plan to purchase a (changeable) round-trip ticket (FR>US>FR).
• We’ll use the FR>US portion to return to the US from our scouting trip.
• We’ll use the US>FR portion to move to France in 2027 on our visas.
So the question is, will a “second-half of a round trip ticket” meet the requirements you mentioned for a “one-way ticket”?
