Building business, association or teacher? Or all 3?

I’m asking on behalf of my partner. He has skills/experience in natural building (with earth) and is considering one (or all) of the following (depending on what is possible and the most appropriate):

  • to register as a teacher, teaching workshops in how to build with earth.
  • possibly to start an association, with a group of other people, where they build together and also teach workshops. Am I right in understanding this would be non-profit making? But cost of materials and other expenses would be deducted from tax obligations? Please explain.
  • to register as a commercial builder (but unconventional, because its using natural materials, such as clay/earth (i.e. torchis) ))

However, if other activities could be covered by his registration, that would help. For example providing metalwork services, such as welding. Also selling artwork and/or other constructions, such as furniture.

Thank you very much
