Best way to register multiple businesses?

We have operated a gite business since 2006, and managed this remotely from the UK. We became resident in 2013. This business has a siret number (503 952 483 000 17) and we complete tax returns though an accountant each year. Historically as a non resident, and this year the submission will change a little I suspect as residents, but it’s with the accountant now. We file under the real simplifie system as the business carries a significant trading loss of around 190,000 euros. This business is not registered as we do not qualify to be classed as a professional landlord of furnished accommodation as the total earnings from the gites are less than 23,000 euros per annum. We are starting a new business helping other holiday home owners manage their properties, doing mainly garden work, cleaning work and meeting and greeting holiday guests on behalf of the owners.

  1. If we register the existing gite business and continue to manage the accounts on the real simplifie basis this means that all other business will need to be managed the same way? At the moment no taxes are paid due to the trading losses, and so far no social charges have been due from this because it’s not registered.
  2. If we don’t register the gite business, can we set up the new property management business as an auto entrepreneur, and if so what APE codes are relevant?
  3. It is my intention to help my husband with the property management company. I am not sure about identifying myself as conjoint collaborateur, as I too am establishing a separate business as an independent distributer for forever living products. I am still a little confused over VDI or auto entrepreneur and who or how social charges relate to this business? (see previous question). So should we both set up as auto entrepreneurs and pay social charges separately or can my forever living products business be a secondary income to the property management company?
