Best choice of fiscal régime for an auto-entrepreneur?

I’m doing some initial research into the auto-entrepreneur scheme before deciding whether to take the plunge. The aspect that I’m currently looking at is the choice of fiscal régimes and I’ve done some calculations to help determine the least expensive option. I’d very much appreciate your thoughts as to whether they appear correct. Proposed activity code is 96.09z (Homme de toutes main). For the sake of the calculations I’ve assumed an annual turnover of 32,600 euros.

  1. Régime classique de la micro-entrepise (BIC)  (annual declaration of income) Turnover = 32,600. 50% abattement (artisan) = 16,300 thus taxable income is 16,300. I’m married with two young children therefore we have 3 parts. 16,300/3 = 5,433. 5,433 less than 5,963 (2012 French income tax bands) thus I’d have a zero percent income tax liability.
  2. Versement Fiscal Libératoire Annual turnover = 32,600 so assume 2,717 per month. At a 1.7% tax rate I’d pay 46.18 a month which equates to 554 euros annually. Clearly, for my situation, the above calculations suggest that not opting for the Versement Fiscal Libératoire would be advantageous.
