Auto-entrepreneur the right choice recording engineer?

My main income is as a landlord, I have a house in England that I rent out, and I am a song writer living in France since July 2011. I have decided to use my recording studio to earn some extra money working as a recording engineer, this will only be for 6 weeks a year and should give me an income of 10,000 Euros. The running costs would be 2,500 Euros. There does not seem to be anything suitable other than the auto-entrepreneur scheme? However this does not allow for expenses, are there any alternatives?
