I am trying to weigh up whether to be registered as an auto-entrepreneur or under entreprise individuelle reel simplifie. At the moment I plan on importing high end dresses from overseas - I have a lot of high expenses in starting up, with little to no profit at this point. Can I claim setting up costs, i.e. stock, samples, website, catalogs, business cards, travel etc. under entreprise individuelle reel simplfie and what percentage can I claim up to? Also, what are the reporting requirements under this regime? How often do I need to report and pay sales and figures?

I know auto-entrepreneur represents 12% of sales and entreprise individuelle reel simplifie represents 46% of net profit - but with such high expenses and little profit I’m wondering if I would benefit more as entreprise individuelle reel simplifie so that I can claim my expenses back? But after the initial set up expenses may be less so I would be having to pay the 46% of my net profit which, brings me to thinking maybe I should register as an auto-entrepreneur? Since my turn over will be a lot less then the auto-entrepreneur threshold.

I want to register my business at my home address, from previous answers I know I may fall under 46.42 Commerce de grow (commerce interentreprises) d’habillement et de chaussures. Would I even be able to work from my home address under this category? I only use one spare bedroom to hold my stock and do admin work (the majority of my work is on the computer) but my business is selling to retailers. Can I do this sort of business from home?

As an extra option I thought about also selling occasionally direct to the public, which may bring me under 47.51 Commerce de detail de textiles en magasin specialise. This would not be like a busy shop, but by appointment only - can I do this from my home also? Example of my activity with the public would be to show my dress samples and take their measurements for ordering - one off evening dress for example.

In regards to registering my business from my home, if I want to complete an acte d’insaisabilite, will my house still be protected if it is listed as my business address?
