Am I obliged to reimburse a client?

I have been asked to reimburse a client. The client booked a two sejour linguistique for their daughter and paid in full. The student started her sejour but after three days her father rang to say that she had an interview with an agency for a training course and that should would have to return home to attend an interview at the end of the first week. The father has requested a full reimbursement for the second week.

I want to know if I am legally obliged to do this or if I can just pay a percentage as the cancellation was at such short notice. Would I need to add something to my invoices to cover this reoccurring in the future?
