About to register as an auto-entrepreneur?

I have just started work for a local magazine in France. The work at present is mainly editorial, but may also include advertising and design in the near future. I have been for advice locally, but now both my husband and I are an auto-entrepreneur business here in France, I feel it is certainly beneficial for us to join your website. I have a few questions.
- I have been advised that I need to register online within 3 months of starting work, please confirm this is correct.
- When registering, I have been advised for the purposes of which tax scheme they will place me in, to emphasis more on the editorial work, rather than the advertising or design. Is this correct please?
- I am aware that over a year I must have more than one employer, but someone told me recently if you work under a certain amount of hours a month this doesn’t count - is this true?
