A misunderstanding with the bank?

We have had a joint current account with Credit Agricole for 19 years so I thought opening a separate account for my auto-entrepreneur business in France would be simple. But no, I have had to supply proof of income and proof of address, even though they hold five bank accounts for us and supply all our insurance requirements through Pacifica.

I am now mystified by them asking me to return one of the two documents they’ve sent me, which I have forwarded to you separately. They seem to go against the objective of leaving my healthcare arrangements unchanged or am I misunderstanding them?
