What type of business should an English teacher open?

I’m an English teacher living in France. I’ve lived here for quite a few years and most of the work I have done has been on a vacataire basis, for local language schools. However, I may soon be offered the chance to work, on an independent basis for a UK based language school which offers distance learning. My job would involve promoting the language school to local companies, and delivering the courses myself.

I’m very confused about how to set myself up. I’ve looked into the possibilities of becoming an auto-entrepreneur, and I even attended a seminar about this status at the local chamber of commerce. It seems to me that I wouldn’t be able to do this, as I would be classed as a commercial agent and therefore a quasi-employeur. Is this correct, or would this change if I were actually delivering the course?

I will be self-employed, but may eventually need some help from other teachers (who are also self-employed, so I wouldn’t be their employer). Based on the information I’ve given you, what kind of business would you suggest I set up? And would it be possible to change from one type of business (or status) to another?
