What are the tax implications of a gite or long term rental in France?

I am registered in France under auto-entrepreneur for my chambres d’hôte and sejours linguistiques business. I am considering letting our second house as a gite or as a long term let. Income for a gite and long term let would not exceed 5,000 euros per year. The chambres d’hôte and sejours business income combined is between 18,000 euros and 20,000 euros per year.

  1. If I do decide to let the house as a gite or long term rental, what are the tax and cotisation charges of each?
  2. Do I need to contact the chambre de commerce to add a gite to my auto-entrepreneur business?
