SAS or auto-entrepreneur for a company in France?

We are looking to start a company in the South of France carrying out boat services, deliveries and caretaking. We have been to see several advisors and have been given conflicting advice with regards to becoming auto-entrepreneur or société par actions simplifiée (SAS).

  1. Is it possible to be an auto-entrepreneur as a married couple?
  2. Can you operate under a company (brand) name as an auto-entrepreneur? We already have a website and some marketing under our chosen company name.
  3. Can you describe the costs incurred with a SAS in comparison to an auto-entrepreneur?
