Code to register as a handyman in France?

I am working out which status to adopt for myself but in the meantime my partner wishes to earn a bit of money doing odd jobs for mostly expats in the area. Things such as putting up shelves and hanging pictures, garden maintenance and clearing out old houses / barns etc. What should he register as and what taxes etc. will he need to pay?
