Ads via SBiF (Limited places)
Ads via SBiF is a new and unique marketing service for businesses in France that have a website. Many business owners, myself included, are always looking for affordable and effective ways to get more visitors to their website and the chance of a sale. If not a sale, then at least the opportunity to make more people aware of your business.
The background
Advertising on sites such as AngloInfo, social networks or the press can be expensive, with resulting traffic to your site either being geographically localised or restricted to the user base of the advertising service. Often it's also impossible to know if the advertising service is giving you a return on your investment or how many visitors it's sending to your website.
In my experience none of these advertising services tell you how your ad is preforming or give you any kind report. For example how many times your ad has been shown (impressions), how many clicks it got etc. Ads via SBiF changes all this.
Ads via SBiF in a nutshell
Ads via SBiF is a simple idea with potentially good returns and exposure for its members. In essence it's a network of websites in France that all want more visitors, sales and exposure in the English speaking community in France.
How it works
Each website in the Ads via SBiF network has a small ad that is 120 pixels wide by 90 pixels tall placed on its home and several other pages. Below the ad is space for 80 characters of text to go along with the image, the text allows you to add extra detail or even an offer code.
When any web page with an ad on is viewed, a single ad from the network is displayed. The next time the same web page is viewed a different ad is shown. Ads are displayed sequentially and evenly so that every ad on the network gets equal views on all the sites on the network.
Think of a pool of 99 ads and 99 websites, each ad will be shown sequentially and evenly on every site 24 hours a day - so during any one day every ad will appear repeatedly on every site.

It's always easier to see things in action, so at the top right of this page you can see a live ad slot. Reload this page a few times to see the ad change, or click on it. Clicking on the ad will take you to another website on the network, also displaying ads via SBiF.

Reporting
Each month you'll get an email detailing how your ad has preformed across the entire network. To be exact the report will show how often your ad has been displayed (impressions) and how often it was clicked. Detailed reports are available if you need more information. For example you might want to know which website in the network gave your ad the most clicks.
The ads and the code
For some people designing the ads is not a problem, if that's not you no worries - I'll get one done for you. So that the ads can run on your site you'll need to add a small bit of code to your site, if that's not something you can do, again I'll sort it out for you. It's all very quick and painless.
Costs
Currently an ad on the network is free for 1 year.
Also available is a roadblock. Roadblocks give your ad 100% priority (no other ads display) on every site in the network for 24 hours. Roadblocks are ideal when you launch a new offer, product or service. A roadblock costs €99 and they are limited to a network total of 12 per year.
Joining
The Ads via SBiF network is not right for every type of business, so here are a few guidelines to see if you're a good fit:
- Your business must be registered
- Your prospective customers are English speaking and live in France
- Your website is the hub of your business
- You actively promote your website
- You're happy to have the ads like the one above on your site
