Which business type to register as for caretaker?

My husband and I have moved to France and have started in a position where my husband will be caretaker on a small estate and I will care for an elderly gentleman on a part time basis. Our accommodation and food is free in this deal. We will be earning between 300 and 700 euros each per month each - dependent on the hours we work. Our employer wants us to open a business in France.
My husband is also an artist and goldsmith and will want to take on commissioned work as it is available. We are unsure which business type we should register for and would we have to register 2 enterprises as our work differs? We would value your advice on which enterprise we should select and can we register on line?
