Which business do I register in France - writer, photographer or gite?

I have a UK income from a previous employer due to an injury at work which prevented me from continuing in that career.  It was a government post and is non-taxable. From this I make regular transfers to my French bank account which provides my living expenses. I also own and run a gite which opened in July 2016, made some income and for which I will be the taxable person and income details will be submitted direct to impots.

I am currently writing my first novel, a work of fiction. There is no income from this at present but I hope to publish this in 2017. I also ran a photography business in the UK and am considering setting up as a photographer here in France. There is no income from this at present.

  1. Can I register as a photographer and writer business in France or do I have to choose?
  2. If the injury at work is a non taxable income in the UK would the gite be considered my main source of income in France and should I register as a micro-entrepreneur as it is the only area in France which has an income stream at the moment?

My wife is registered as a Micro-Entrepreneur and I currently fall under her business regarding health cover.
