What is the right way to close an EIRL?

I would like to close my EIRL business in France. I have accessed Chambre de commerce et d’industrie (CCI) online and be offered two choices:

  1. Cesser totale d’activité avec radiation du RCS
  2. Cesser définitivement l’activité sans radiation

What do they mean and what are the consequences of each?
