What is the best way to register a business in France?

My husband will be supplying (from outside the EU) and installing interior plantation shutters in France. We have had mixed advise (not from professionals) about how we should proceed. The income from this will not exceed 30,000 euros a year, and he may only have limited clients. How best should he register, and will he need to register under two different codes? One to supply and one to install?

Also, we have gites on our property that we hope to rent out as short term holiday lets (no meals) from July. My intention is to register this business in my name. What is the best regime for this, given that we do not expect income to be more than 25,000 euros?
