I have a second home here, purchased in 2006 and rented out for 3 months at the beginning of 2011. The house only became habitable during 2010 as we were renovating it up until that point. Am I right in thinking that the property has to be habitable and vacanct for 5 years before I have to pay this tax? If so could you please advise me on the relevant documents I should take to the tax office to prove non-habitability.
