Should my wife start her own business in France?

You kindly answered an earlier question in October last year - now we are ready to go we’d like some firmer guidance. We (my wife and I both British citizens aged 59) have a property with attached gite which I will run with an associated Gardiennage service for other property owners as an auto-entrepreneur.

My wife produces craft work - mainly textile items such as bags, soft toys, quilts etc. I understand that from a healthcare perspective she can benefit from my registration (adding her as a conjoint collaborateur you advised would be about 3,000 euro per annum).

  1. The question now is should she have her own auto-entrepreneur business in France?
  2. What are the implications of having zero turnover?
  3. Once registered as auto-entrepreneur who else do we have to inform?
