Set up a bed and breakfast business in France?

I am English. I have just retired after being fiscally resident in Romania but I am not yet old enough for a state pension. I own my house in France but still have a UK address as I visit my daughter and granddaughter regularly. I would like to do chambre d’hote (bed and breakfast) business in France but not on a commercial basis.

The form to register at the local Office de Tourisme asks for the following: SIRET; APE/NAP; RCS; DDJS. I only recognise the first of these. I tried to complete your auto-entrepreneur application but was unable to complete it as I don’t pay social charges. I am also not confident if this is the right category for my circumstances. Where do I start?
