Current Situation:
I want to build my email list by sending a weekly newsletter so i’m building my website. I read that French registered businesses have to declare their website with CNIL. The sanctions against non compliance are severe.

Here’s is a mention legales from a French business website which shows their CNIL declaration.

My Questions:

  1. I logged onto CNIL’s website but could not find any tool or link to declare or submit our website. I searched for keywords like “declare website”, “register website”, “declare” on their search box and got no relevant results. How do i declare my site with CNIL?
  2. My customer base is in the United States. With my business registered in France, do i have to write mention legales in both French and English?
  3. Is there any website / blog / online resource which specifically talks about the most updated email marketing laws for businesses registered in France?
