On line trading-disclaimers and laws governing

Hello, can you tell me, please, what the legalities are governing on-line trading via a website? I have noticed not all sites have ‘conditions of trade or sale’ or a ‘disclaimer’ section.
What are you legal obliged to state on the website to cover yourself for goods, say for example, that are stored absolutely correctly but may be imperfect for other reasons i.e. manufacture or whilst in transit?
