Is micro-entrepreneur suited for my work situation in France?

I am an expatriate that has worked in France since 2007 and am now retired and married to a French lady and live in France. Recently I have invested in a petites et moyennes entreprises (PME) specialising in renewable energy and also have an opportunity to provide consultancy services which will benefit the PME of my worldwide experience and contacts.

I understand that there are some limitations working for only one company in France as a micro-entrepreneur, but I believe I can diversify and overcome such a situation. The work involved with be providing consultancy services with a commercial perspective.
