Is auto-entrepreneur the best business structure for furnished lettings?

My wife is intending to buy a couple of apartments and rent them out as short-term furnished apartments. We are French residents and I’m an auto-entrepreneur profession liberale. The apartments are likely to not make much income since the mortgage payments will be quite high and could make a loss if the apartments don’t get rented out much.
Should my wife set up an as an auto-entrepreneur, or is there a better business structure in terms of minimising tax and social charges. We have several children in case that affects the tax situation.
