Is a SIRET number necessary for a chambre d’hote?

I have recently started a chambre d’hote business earlier in 2016 (one room at the moment). I have registered with the marie for meubles de tourisme. We have now been told that now there is a new legislation in France that requires all gite / chambre d’hotes businesses to register for a SIRET number non proffesional and you will pay cotisation foncière des entreprises (CFE)?
