How do I give my business a nom commercial and register with RCS?

As I have just registered as an auto-entrepreneur, and received an email saying my request has been transmitted to the INSEE, etc. I’ve been reading contradictory information on the internet and in a guidebook, as to the possibility of an auto-entrepreneur registering a nom commercial. I had hoped to be able to do so on the Declaration de Debut d’Activite. Because I wish to appear with a nom commercial on infogreffe.com, I understand that in any case what’s important is registering with the RCS. Will I be able to do this as an auto-entrepreneur when I get my SIRET, or will I have to change the legal form of my business altogether?
