Help with business registration in France?

I’ve been offered two more opportunities to work through the summer in France, (with one possibly continuing throughout the year) as a result of my friend’s decision not to return from the UK. So perhaps registering would be better than the other option of my employer paying any taxes for me?

My accountant told me you’re very good at helping people to become registered and to find their way through the mountain of paperwork needed to do this and can make it quite simple.

Can you please explain what the process of setting up a business here in France, how long it takes and the cost?
