City and guilds plastering diploma to start a business in France?

My husband is planning to go back to UK to take a course - which will result in a City and Guilds diploma in plastering. He then plans to start a business here in France using this diploma. Apart from translating the diploma, is there any other documents or proof of experience he will need to start an auto-entrepreneur? I know he has to attend a week course at chambre des metiers and understand it is better to register with them, then doing it online?
