Chambre De Commerce Services a Domicile

Further to our previous conversation I sent an email to the local Chambre de Commerce to initiate getting my wife’s SIRET application:

My wife and I have had to move to France quite quickly to look after my elderly parents. We are presently living in their home.
I have been able to sort out my SIRET application but I need to assist my wife in her’s.

Initially, she will be working on simple tasks for my parents and for others under the heading auto-entrepreneur: services à domicile (nettoyage, repassage, dame de compagnie). We understand that her application needs to be made in person or with you as there are additional forms that need to be completed. Our French is quite limited at present but a friend has offered to assist us in completing the task.

  1. Do we need to make an appointment with you or a colleague to discuss the application and to complete the forms?
  2. If so what documentation or copies of documentation should we bring with us?

After a week of no reply I asked our friend to contact the Chambre by phone: his response was as follows: “According to them;  for cleaning, ironing etc you need to apply to the Chambre de Metier in La Rochelle and attend a course / stage – 250€.”

I would be grateful if you could look into this, is there some confusion as to which Chambre deals with services à domicile (nettoyage, repassage, dame de compagnie).
