CFE payment online or at the bank?

I paid my CFE online on Friday, at least I thought I had but I have read elsewhere that you have to print the confirmation slip and take it into your bank for the payment. I assumed that was just if you were paying by instalments. Am I mistaken, it would seem to defeat the purpose of paying online.
