Carte vitale and adding a new activity

I am micro entrepreneur, registered as consultant marketing and have been since 2006. Two months ago I added an activity locations meubles to my statut. RAM have sent me a form to add my photo and sign which seems to be to receive a /new/ carte vitale. I have had the same carte vitale for many years so am worried about this. Do you know if this is usual practice? Thank you.
