Can one person have two totally separate businesses

I am about to register my jewellery making and selling business with the Chambre de Metiers. This is a new business so I presume that I will have to do the SPI course?

However, I have been given an opportunity to buy the sole franchise of a completely different business (animal feed supplement) which I am interested in and will do if I can raise the capital. As this is so different to jewellery, would I need to register this business with the Chambre de Commerce as I suppose that I would be an agent commerciale? The original business is based in the UK.
