Can I claim benefits for seasonal work?

A friend has mentioned that we could claim something as a family as my work is seasonal (only in school holidays and I don’t work from November through to February). Is this true and if so, how would I go about this? As background, I have a chambre d’hotes and gites and live with my husband who is retired (no pension until he is 60 - in 7 years) and our two children (5 and 6). I have just paid my first social cotisations to RSI of just over 3,000 euros if that helps. Any advice would be welcome.
