Best way to do mixed activities and seasonal work?

I am set up as an Enterprise Individuelle for my main activity which is renting vehicles during the summer (April to October). I was informed the simple auto-entrepreneur route was not suitable as it involved renting materials. How do I change the business so it is a seasonal activity? I read another post saying that I need to close it down and re-open it for a small cost. Is this straight forward to do? For the winter I have just been offered work to sell advertising for an internet site. What would you recommend doing? Presumably I can not operate as an agent commercial under my existing set up, or can I?
