Am I obliged to have business bank account?

I’ve been an auto-entrepreneur since Jan 2012. When I went to my local bank to open a bank account (BNP) they told me I had to open two bank accounts, one personal and one business. I didn’t want the business account, I just wanted one as it is easier to manage for me but I was told that I was obliged to do so. In the first year it was free but after a year they have started to charge me 21 euros a month. I find this charge expensive and unnecessary for something I have no use for. Is this true that I am obliged to have this business account? Can I close it and use my personal account only?
