About Start Business in France

Valerie Lemiere - Start Business in FranceHello, I’m Valerie. I’m French and for my day job I work as a professional business adviser - in my free time I run this site to help English speakers get fast and reliable help on setting up and running a small business in France. To that end you’ll find a busy forum where I’ll personally answer all your questions, on the home page I publish articles on running a small business in France. I also release videos and the occasional podcast.

My background

I am a qualified marketer who studied in France and the UK where I gained an international MBA. I’ve worked in both small and international companies in France as a senior marketing manager in the UK for 8 years, I now live In Normandy where I work as a professional business adviser to French and English entrepreneurs for Pepiniere d’Entreprises, part of the national Boutique de Gestion network.

Why this site?

Since 2005 I have helped 100’s of French entrepreneurs turn their dream into reality by guiding them through all aspects of setting up, starting and running a small business in France. During that time I came across more and more English people wanting to start their business in France. The idea behind this site is simply to share my experience and knowledge to help all entrepreneurs right across France.

Who reads this site?

Launched in October 2008 to keep me busy during my maternity leave, Start Business in France has just celebrated its 1st year and has amassed over 25,000 visits and an amazing 105,000 page views. Families moving from the UK, North America or even Australia to France are now finding some reliable information in plain English to help them start a business in France.
